Chasing Light and Building Dreams - Shouhang High-Tech's Solar Thermal Technology Expands New Territory: Tangshan Haitai's 1 million kilowatt "Solar thermal + photovoltaic" integrated Project achieves full-system full-load power generation

Recently, Shouhang High-Tech is responsible for the supply service and installation guidance of core equipment for tower-type concentrating and heat collection systems and air-cooling systems, while China Power Engineering Consulting Group Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. is the general contractor. The 100MW solar thermal project of Tangshan Hetai New Energy Technology Co., LTD., in which Northwest Electric Power Construction Third Engineering Co., Ltd. participated in the construction, has achieved full-system full-load power generation!

 

 

Shouhang High-Tech was fully involved in the construction and installation guidance of the concentrating and heat collection system for this project. A high-precision heliostat array with a total light-receiving area of 524,790 square meters has been created. Each heliostat has an area of 115.72 square meters and consists of 35 sub-heliostats. A total of 4,535 heliostats are configured to precisely track the path of the sun and achieve efficient collection of light energy.

 

 

The center elevation of the heat absorber in this project is 190 meters, and its rated power is as high as 314MWt. The supporting heat storage system has a capacity of 2789MWh and can store thermal energy for up to 12 hours. The tube screen of the heat absorber is the core component for converting solar energy into thermal energy. To ensure the rapid progress of the project milestones, Shouhang High-Tech has pre-locked in the key imported materials for the heat absorber and overcome the difficulties of overseas transportation. At the same time, to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the hoisting process of the heat absorption tower tube screen, Shouhang High-Tech made a series of meticulous arrangements and guidance before hoisting and during the installation process.

 

 

This project is located in Qiquanhu Town, on the north side of Gaochang District, Turpan City, Xinjiang, covering an area of 27.34 square kilometers, with a planned total investment of 6.115 billion yuan. As one of the second batch of market-oriented grid-connected new energy projects in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in 2022, this project integrates the construction of 900MW photovoltaic and 100MW thermal storage molten salt tower solar thermal power stations. Its construction speed is significantly ahead among similar large-scale solar thermal projects, fully demonstrating the high project execution efficiency and strong construction organization capabilities.

 

 

After the project is fully operational, it is expected that the annual utilization hours can reach 1,142 hours and the average annual power generation is approximately 114.2 million kilowatt-hours. Each year, it can save approximately 34,300 tons of standard coal, reduce about 89,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, and simultaneously lower the emissions of air pollutants such as smoke dust, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen oxides. The environmental benefits are remarkable and it has positive significance for contributing to the realization of the "dual carbon" goals.
