Recently, the 20th China New Energy International Forum (NEX2026) - the Forum on Diversified New Energy Storage and Application Development was held in Beijing. The forum, with the theme of "Diversification and Value Reconfiguration", brought together leading energy storage enterprises, power grid research institutions, industry organizations, and cross-border innovators. They focused on in-depth exchanges on various technical paths and business models such as long-duration energy storage, grid-connected energy storage, power calculation collaboration, and industrial and commercial energy storage, aiming to solve industry development problems and build consensus for the high-quality development of the energy storage industry. First Horizon Hi-tech was invited to attend the forum as the executive deputy head unit of the All-China New Energy Chamber of Commerce. It aimed to contribute technological innovation to the diversified integration of the industry and collaborate with industry partners to reshape the value of the energy storage industry.
During the special report session of this forum, Huang Wenbo, the executive vice president of the All-China Federation of New Energy Businessmen and the chairman of First Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech, delving deeply into the topic of "Analysis on the Diversified Applications and Development of Molten Salt and Thermal Chemical Energy Storage".
Huang Wenbo pointed out that what the power system lacks is not energy storage but long-term energy storage. In 2024, only 12.5% of the newly added energy storage projects with a duration of more than 4 hours were of this type. Molten salt energy storage can last for several hours and has a lifespan of 30 years. China's cumulative installed capacity of concentrated solar power has reached 2.1 million kilowatts, ranking second globally. The cost per kilowatt-hour has dropped from approximately 1.15 yuan to 0.57 yuan, with a domestic production rate of 95%, and it can also be used for the flexibility transformation of thermal power and industrial heating.
This forum also concurrently held the relevant ceremonies for the换届 of the All-China New Energy Chamber of Commerce. During the ceremony of presenting certificates to the newly elected leaders of the chamber, Huang Wenbo, the chairman of First Horizon Hi-Tech， was elected as the executive vice president of the All-China New Energy Chamber of Commerce. This is not only an industry's recognition of First Horizon Hi-Tech's continuous deepening in the field of long-term energy storage and its industrial contributions， but also confers greater responsibilities on the enterprise. In the future， it will continue to play the role of a platform link， coordinate and innovate with the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain， and help the new energy industry achieve high-quality development.
In response to the era's challenge of building a new power system, long-term energy storage is the key solution to address the issue of wind and solar energy consumption and ensure reliable power supply. Leveraging the advantages of domestic molten salt energy storage technology, Hengyang Gaohe will continue to deepen technological innovation, expand diversified application scenarios of molten salt and thermochemical energy storage, and work together with industry partners to jointly promote the reshaping of the energy storage industry value. With the powerful force of long-term energy storage, it will help China achieve the green and low-carbon transformation of energy and the realization of the "carbon neutrality" goal.
