The following content is excerpted from China National Radio's "[My Home is at the Foot of Qilian Mountain] The second half arrives as scheduled, and the Hexi Corridor stages a "Photovoltaic +" green transformation"

The light shines on Qilian. This light is the sunshine and the light of science and technology.

Photovoltaic power generation is greatly affected by factors such as sunlight intensity and weather changes. How to solve the problems of power generation instability and abandoned light has become a major challenge facing the industry.

Dunhuang Shouhang Hi-Tech's 100MW molten salt tower solar thermal power station, as the first 100-megawatt solar thermal power station in China, has achieved 24-hour continuous power generation through its configured molten salt energy storage system, providing a stable power supply to the power grid.

This solar thermal project, through its unique molten salt tower solar thermal power generation technology, provides a good supplement to the shortcomings of photovoltaic projects in terms of power output stability.

"Photovoltaic power generation can only be carried out during the day and is greatly affected by weather changes and has strong volatility. Solar thermal projects can be equipped with energy storage systems to store excess heat when the sun is sufficient, and release heat to generate electricity when needed (such as at night or when there is insufficient light), thereby achieving 24-hour continuous and stable power generation. This energy storage and regulation capability enables solar thermal projects to smooth out the volatility of photovoltaic power stations and improve the stability and reliability of the entire solar power generation system." Liu Fuguo introduced that solar thermal power generation has the characteristics of continuous and stable output. Compared with photovoltaic power generation, it can continue to generate electricity at night or on cloudy days when there is insufficient light, thereby effectively making up for the intermittent nature of photovoltaic power generation.

This complementary model of solar thermal and photovoltaic power not only improves energy utilization efficiency, but also enhances the stability and reliability of the power grid, providing strong support for the development of new energy in Dunhuang and even the wider region.

In order to improve the efficiency and economy of solar thermal power generation, Dunhuang Shouhang Hi-Tech has continuously developed new technologies and equipment, promoting the rapid development of solar thermal technology. These technological innovations not only improve the performance of solar thermal projects, but also provide useful technical reference and inspiration for the photovoltaic industry.
