In the early morning of December 28, 2018, the first voyage of energy-saving Dunhuang 100MW molten salt tower solar thermal power station was successfully connected to the grid. The project is equipped with an 11-hour molten salt heat storage system, which can achieve 24-hour continuous power generation, and the annual power generation can reach 0.39 billion kilowatt-hours.

Through years of self-owned technology accumulation and practical exploration on the first voyage energy-saving Dunhuang 10MW tower solar thermal power station, various technical problems have been solved, and the overall technology of the power station has been greatly improved on the basis of the 10MW power station.

The completion of this project is not only the first commercial demonstration of energy-saving photothermal power generation, but also a successful demonstration of photothermal power generation at the national level.
